Get Thicker, Fuller Hair with PRFM Hair Restoration

If you are dealing with hair loss or thinning hair, you have probably heard of many hair restoration treatment options. However, many of these options require painful incisions, and a line of hair removed from the back of the scalp. At our office, we offer PRFM hair restoration, which is a nonsurgical option for thicker, fuller hair.

Fuller Hair, Without the Pain

At our office, we use a PRFM hair restoration system called Selphyl® to help stimulate hair growth. This system is created for safe preparation of Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) from a sample of blood taken from the patient. While Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can have extensive contamination with red and white blood cells, Selphyl® removes contaminating cells. PRP is converted to PRFM through a controlled process, creating a support that serves to protect and preserve platelets. Selphyl® is the next generation PRP, and we are excited to share this new technology with our patients.

How Does the Treatment Work?

Selphyl® uses your own blood platelets to restore hair growth. During the treatment, your blood will be taken, and then placed in a centrifuge that will separate the blood from the plasma. This allows us to place the platelet-rich formula into a syringe to inject it into your scalp.

These platelets work to repair tissue, stimulate cell growth and collagen production, encouraging new hair growth. Topical anesthetic may be used to help ensure a comfortable treatment.

Most patients require a series of three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. It usually takes about 3-6 months after the final injection to see full results, so don’t worry if you don’t see results tight away!

If you are ready to restore your fuller head of hair, and wish to learn more about PRFM hair restoration at our Troy, MI office, contact us today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Trupiano.
