What is Latisse?
Latisse is an FDA-approved treatment for growing longer, thicker eyelashes. This treatment is very easy to use, and proven effective. In a clinical trial, Latisse was shown to achieve 25% longer lashes, 106% fuller lashes, and 18% darker lashes.
Who is a Candidate?
Individuals with sparse eyelashes who wish to achieve longer, darker lashes can often benefit from Latisse. Most individuals can benefit from Latisse, however, a consultation with Dr. Trupiano can help to determine candidacy.
Latisse is simply applied to the upper lash line using special applicators. Patients should not apply Latisse to the lower lid or in the eye. Be sure to only use the sterile applicators supplied with Latisse to apply the product. If you decide to stop treatments, your lashes will gradually return to their previous appearance. Results should begin to show after four weeks of use, with full results after 16 weeks.
After the treatment, patients should begin to see changes in eyelash length first. Over time, the lashes will darken and thicken. Possible side effects to be aware of include darkening of the iris of the eye, which may be permanent, and eyelid skin darkening, which may be reversible. After you achieve full results, speak with Dr. Trupiano about continued use.
