Your Facelift Procedure
A traditional facelift is typically performed using either general anesthesia or sedation. To begin, Dr. Trupiano will perform an incision near the temples, being conscious of your hairline. This incision allows the underlying muscles to be tightened, the fat to be repositioned, and loose skin to be excised. During your procedure, a neck lift, brow lift, or eyelid lift can also be performed. Once complete, the skin is re-draped over the underlying tissues and the incisions are closed with sutures. Then, you can return home.

Facelift Results and Recovery
You should plan to take 1-2 weeks away from work and regular activities. You may not feel comfortable returning to public for 2-3 weeks because of bruising and swelling. During your initial recovery, it’s important to keep your head elevated and take your prescribed medications according to instructions. You should also avoid elevating your heart rate and instead rest as much as possible. It can take a few months for all residual swelling to subside and up to six months for your final results to emerge. You can enjoy long-term results with a facelift if you maintain an effective skincare regimen and avoid sun damage.
